Overview

AVAILABLE FURNISHED, SEMI-FURNISHED, OR UNFINISHED, WITH A RENTAL DURATION OF YEARLY, WINTER, OR ACADEMIC. Nestled along scenic Macedonia Brook Road after a drive through Macedonia State Park, this magical wood-and-stone cottage sits on nearly 40 private acres where Macedonia Brook meanders for more than 1,000 feet of frontage. Built in 1918 and offering 2,498 SF across two thoughtfully designed floors, the home invites you to experience the soothing presence of a true babbling trout stream visible from multiple rooms and outdoor spaces. A wooden bridge crosses the water and opens onto trails that invite exploration of the surrounding woodland. Step through the mudroom into a generous kitchen defined by a Garland six-burner gas stove, lower country wood cabinetry, floating shelves, an appliance cabinet, beamed ceiling, and warm hardwood floors. The kitchen flows seamlessly into a massive dining room featuring a stone fireplace and a picture window framing views of the screened porch, creating an ideal backdrop for indoor meals or alfresco dining overlooking the verdant grounds and water. Through a swing door, the living room expands into an impressive gathering space with exposed beams, hardwood floors, and a stone fireplace with wood-burning stove insert. A door opens to a covered stone porch where a floating daybed lets you relax to the soothing sounds of the stream. A first-floor bedroom and full bath accessible from both the bedroom and hallway complete the main level.
